Changelog

What's new in the MuscleMap app

V2.6.1 March 2026

Bug fix for duplicate session saves

  • Fixed duplicate session save Resolved a bug where tapping "Accept Reading" on the last muscle could save the session twice, creating duplicate entries in session history

V2.6.0 March 2026

4 new muscle groups and over-the-air firmware updates

  • New muscles: Base of Skull, Temple, Jaw, and Hand Expanding coverage to 21 muscle groups (42 individual muscles left and right). Base of Skull and Temple are especially useful for clients with headaches and TMJ issues
  • Over-the-air firmware updates Compatible devices can now receive firmware updates directly through the app via Bluetooth. No cables or computers needed — just tap "Update" when a new version is available

V2.5.0 February 2026

Improved Bluetooth connectivity, Android PDF fix, UI rearrangement

  • Improved Bluetooth connectivity Higher MTU and connection priority for more stable device communication. Longer scan window reduces "device not found" failures
  • Auto-reconnect The app remembers your device and starts scanning automatically when you return to the Measure tab. No more tapping "Search" every time
  • Fixed PDF opening on Android Resolved a bug where PDF session summaries couldn't be opened on Android devices
  • Heatmap-first layout Rearranged the session detail view and PDF to put the heatmap front and center, making it easier to walk clients through results

V2.4.0 February 2026

Redesigned measurement flow, technique coaching, new muscles, new color system

  • Measurement flow redesigned Quick notes (session type, pain areas, lifestyle) now come before testing, so you can see pain badges on the body map while you measure. No more forgetting what the client told you
  • Technique feedback The app now coaches you in real time with specific tips like "Press a bit slower" or "Keep perpendicular." Helps new users build good habits faster and reduces inconclusive readings
  • Sound and haptic cues Audible and vibration feedback when a measurement succeeds or fails, so you can stay focused on the client instead of watching the screen
  • New muscles Added Outer Hip and Foot regions, bringing the total to 17 muscle groups (each left and right)
  • Recalibrated scoring All muscle benchmarks re-derived from 753 real production measurements. Scores are now more accurate and consistent across different body types
  • New 5-color tension scale Red (very tight) → orange (tight) → green (normal) → light blue (underactive) → dark blue (very underactive). Each color now tells you both direction and severity at a glance
  • Terminology "Loose" renamed to "Underactive" to better reflect what low-tension scores actually indicate clinically
  • Expandable tension legend Tap to see what each color means, plus a new full-screen heatmap view for easier client walkthroughs
  • Pain dots Pain areas from quick notes now appear as dots on the body map during testing, so you can visually correlate tension with what the client is feeling

V2.3.0 February 2026

Better score spread, audio feedback, before/after session pairing

  • Score spread improved Normalization bounds tightened so scores use more of the 0-100 range. Previously many measurements clustered around 40-60, now you see more meaningful differences between muscles
  • Sound feedback Audio cue on successful and failed measurements so you know the result without looking at the screen
  • Session pairing Link a before and after session to see side-by-side changes from a single treatment. Great for showing clients immediate impact
  • Share dialog Cleaner layout makes it easier to send session summaries to clients
  • Muscle slopes recalibrated Benchmark slopes updated from real production data with wall detection enabled, improving score accuracy across all muscle groups

V2.2.0 February 2026

Wall detection, 0-100 scale, color-coded scores

  • Wall detection The algorithm now detects when you press into bone or fascia and automatically excludes that data. This means you don't need to worry about pressing too hard, your score stays the same whether you stop at the wall or push past it
  • 0-100 scale Replaces the old 0-10 scale. The wider range makes it easier to spot small changes between sessions and communicate progress to clients
  • Higher = tighter Score direction inverted so a high number means more tension. More intuitive when explaining results to clients
  • Color-coded scores Scores now display with color. Green means normal range, red flags muscles that need attention. Makes the heatmap immediately readable
  • Pressure tips Added guidance to FAQ and in-app onboarding for consistent measurement technique

V2.0 – V2.1 January 2026
